In relation to the above East colonial is very concern with the environmental issues related to the sourcing of wood used in the production of its furniture.
Since the beginning East Colonial was fully committed to use only recycled or what we call "rediscovered teak wood" that we rediscover from old / neglected Dutch Colonial houses, government buildings, and warehouses. We carefully select the building which have no significant in both cultural and historical values and under the skilled hands of our carpenters this so called rediscovered teak wood gained a new life as beautifully functional furniture.
The recycled teak wood comes in many different sizes such as supports, frames and posts and we carefully select them to be used in different products, mainly used in dressers, cupboards, table tops, and chairs. We clean the recycled teak wood and cut into the required components and we put in kylant dry oven before being handed over to our wood workers.
We have our FSC® certificate with certificate number NC-COC-003133 and has been certified by Preferred by Nature. This FSC Recycled 100% label is a legitimate source that we only use recycled teak wood in our production.
